"Liking" Comments on Facebook

In a not so subtle move to increase the amount of market data it has access to, Facebook has introduced the ability to “Like” a comment. I’m curious to see how popular this feature becomes, and how much it adds to the user experience. Facebook is in the business of mining for data, and this is a sensible move. More importantly, I don’t feel that this measure is unfairly taking advantage of users. Though ultimately, I guess that is hard to determine for sure without knowing exactly what information Facebook distributes about its users. With privacy issues revolving around the service making front page headlines, I question the timing of this move.
